Dr. Rachel Wenzel

Veterinarian

Dr. Rachel Wenzel graduated with her doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Michigan native and grew up in the Saginaw area. Dr. Wenzel specializes in and enjoys preventative medicine, client education, and surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, visiting Michigan state parks, and spending time with her four dogs, two cats, a rabbit, and a fish.

Dr. Joseph Sanchez

Dr. Sanchez grew up in mid-Michigan. Before veterinary school, he worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician at MSU’s Veterinary Medical Center in the emergency and critical care department and the radiology department. His main interests are in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Sanchez and his wife, Lindsey, have a six-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. They live on a farm with a herd of beef cattle, a pony named Taffy, barn cats, and an Australian Shepherd, Koda. Dr. Sanchez is happy to be a part of the Ithaca Animal Hospital team.

Dr. Adam Dorr

Veterinarian

Dr. Adam Dorr is an Associate Veterinarian with 10 years of experience in Dairy Practice, both in private and industry settings. He graduated from Michigan State University’s Veterinary School and has since developed a keen interest in preventive medicine and internal medicine to promote the overall health and wellness of his patients.

Dr. Dorr takes pride in providing high-quality, compassionate, and low-stress care to his patients, while also ensuring that their owners are informed and educated about their pet’s health and treatment plans.

In his free time, Dr. Dorr enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Kayla and their 5-year-old son Teddy. Together they enjoy a range of outdoor activities, such as boating, swimming, camping, hiking, backpacking, and skiing, as well as playing board games.

As a fun fact, Dr. Dorr walked onto the Michigan State Football Team for the 2004-2005 season. He also has three pets, two dogs named Rudy and Oh’ Petes, and a cat named Bear. Adam has lived and worked in the mid-Michigan area, specifically Eagle and Middleton, for about 10 years and is proud to call it home.

Melissa Ball
Hospital Manager

Melissa is our Hospital Manager here at Ithaca Animal Hospital. She has been in all capacities such as CSR, tech and manager and has been in the field for about 10 years. She graduated from Central Michigan University. Melissa prides herself in the quality of patient care and client education. In her free time, she watches and plays football. In the summer, she does yard work and hangs out with her fur babies and
in the winter, she enjoys crafting while sitting near the fireplace.

Sierra

Veterinary Assistant

Sierra has over five years of customer service experience. She joined our team as a Receptionist, was promoted to Vet Tech, and is now our Office Manager. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with clients and their pets. Outside work, she runs a fox rescue with several species of foxes. She enjoys spending time with her two Pitbulls, Snow and Luxury, drawing, and photography.

Sara has been in veterinary medicine for about nine years. She enjoys the mystery of trying to find the problem in someone who can’t tell them what’s wrong. The most satisfying part of this line of work is bringing the puppies and kittens back to their normal selves.

Sharina takes pride in learning new things. Being new in the vet world can be scary, but she’s thankful to work with amazing and helpful people. She likes to spend time with her husband and daughters; she also enjoys traveling to new places, riding motorcycles, and almost any craft.
